The Supreme Court Rejects Trumps Immigration Appeal

The Trump administration submitted an appeal to the Supreme Court, overlooking the chain of command which signifies that appeals must go through the federal appeals court before reaching the Supreme Court. The appeal was done in efforts to shoot down a lower court order that extended the time period in which the administration must continue accepting DACA renewal applications. With this opposition now in place, it is likely that the program will not be ending in early March, as the White House had planned. Hence, we’re still in limbo as to the status of what is to be decided for DACA applicants until there is a legislative fix.
